Racing

“A boat is always safe at shore, but that is not what it was made for…” -Mark Twain

SISA hosts several weekend regattas throughout spring, summer and fall, from April to October. Whether you are an experienced sailor, or just “learning the ropes,” we invite you to participate. Even if you find yourself at the back of the pack, learning how to race helps to better your sailing skills. Bring your own boat, or climb aboard as crew with a skipper who needs an extra hand.

If you don’t want to race, but still want to have fun with the group, spend race day relaxing on the shore. Then bring along a dish to share, and join us for the potluck dinner on Saturday night. Happy hour starts once the boats are tucked in for the night, and dinner’s ready around 6:00 pm.
